Electro-acupuncture

Electro-acupuncture is the application of a pulsating electrical current to acupuncture needles as a means of stimulating the acupoints. The acupuncture needles are inserted into skin by hand manipulation to attain the qi reaction first, two electrodes are then attached to the needles to provide continued stimulation which can be controlled in term of the frequency of the stimulus and the amount of stimulus as required. Strong stimulation may be needed for difficult cases of neuralgia or paralysis. The continued electrical stimulation can increase the efficacy of the normal acupuncture treatment.
