Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the major branches of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The first record of acupuncture was found in the oldest medical textbook (Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Medicine) written in Chinese 4,700 years ago. Acupuncture has been used as a regular, safe, and effective illness treatment in China, both historical times and in the present. During its long history, acupuncture has spread to many countries and regions of the world. Acupuncture had been used by millions of Americans.

Many people believe that acupuncture is used to relieve acute and chronic pain only, but they are unaware that acupuncture treatment is effective for many types of illness and disorders. In fact, multiple problems can be treated simultaneously, and there are no side effects from acupuncture treatments. Based on her knowledge and understanding of the ancient Chinese philosophy and the essential principle of traditional Chinese medicine, Dr. Hua tries to first find the cause or root of the diseases, and then employs the acupuncture, normally combined with herbal medicine, along with other related TCM treatments to enhance the patient’s own natural powers of recovery to reach the goal of whole-body healing.

Because the purpose of acupuncture is to normalize and balance the Yin and Yang of your body (the balance of Yin and Yang is essential for health according to TCM), there are therefore no long-term negative side effects. On the contrary, relaxation and a sense of well-being often occur during and after treatment. Many patients fall asleep during their acupuncture treatment, and enjoy the experience itself very much.
